In the middle of Söderåsen lies the idyllic village of Stenestad, the home of Skåne’s highest church. There is also Stenestad Park and the Swedish Pomological Science Centre, a knowledge and visitor centre focusing on fruits and berries. Take a break and enjoy the gardens, and be inspired by the beauty, fragrances and flavours that vary with the seasons.
A dose of culture can be had at Galleri TapperPopermajer, focusing on exhibitions of international contemporary art in the old train station at Teckomatorp. Take the train there, it stops right outside. Films and broadcasts of live performances of opera and theatre can be seen at the Culture House in Svalöv.
Good idea, as it is also the home of the classic mo tor sport facility Ring Knutstorp where you can see competitions in STCC, road racing and RallyCross all summer. Svalöv is also rich in the creative powers of potters and artists, such as Bente Brosböl Hansen, the world potting champion several years running. Keep your eyes open for signs leading to the studios and workshops. |
